Andrew Manto

Andrew Manto is an Associate Director, Fabrication Architecture at Sidewalk Labs on the Canopy team. His work focuses on the design and production of timber building systems and their adoption by architects and designers. Most recently, Andrew worked as an advanced manufacturing engineer at A Zahner Company where he helped lead the creation of digital tools and physical shop workflows that enabled the fabrication of cutting edge custom architectural facades.

Andrew holds a Master of Architecture degree from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology, and a BS in Architectural Studies from the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee. His research focused on the intersection of designing and making, and resulted in the production of numerous diverse artifacts; all the way from bottle openers to buildings. He enjoys spending time outdoors, reading about design and technology, and making things of all shapes and sizes.
