Femke de Theije

Head R&d at Siemens Healthineers

Femke de Theije has more than 20 years of experience in the healthcare industry, with a focus on point-of-care diagnostics. Femke began their career in 2001 at Philips Research as a Senior Scientist, working on projects related to biosensors and printable semiconductor films. In 2007, they joined the Philips Healthcare Incubator as a Project Manager and Team Leader, overseeing the development of immunoassays and biosensor systems. Femke then moved to Philips Handheld Diagnostics in 2011, where they served as the Director of Immunoassays. In this role, they managed a team of up to 40 scientists and engineers and was responsible for technical expertise, collaboration with external partners, and customer support. In 2018, Femke joined Minicare BV as a Senior Scientist in Assay Development, working on innovative point-of-care diagnostics products. Most recently, they joined Siemens Healthineers in 2019 as the Head of R&D, where they oversee research and development strategies.

Femke de Theije received their VWO degree from Jansenius scholengemeenschap in 1990. Femke then pursued their MsC in Chemistry at Radboud University from 1992 to 1996. Subsequently, they obtained their PhD in Surface Chemistry from Radboud University between 1996 and 2001.
