Thomas Schabetsberger

Thomas Schabetsberger has extensive work experience in the field of eHealth and healthcare technology. Thomas is currently serving as the Head of eHealth & Patient Engagement and Strategy & Business Development Lead eHealth at Siemens Healthineers since February 2021. Prior to this, they held the position of Chairman at the Scientific Society for Innovative Health Information Systems (WIGIS) starting from September 2017.

Thomas also has entrepreneurial experience as the Owner of DDr. Thomas Schabetsberger since 2009. In addition, they have held various leadership roles at ITH icoserve technology for healthcare GmbH, including Head of Technical Sales and Product Management & Chief Product Owner eHealth Solutions from October 2013 to January 2021, and Head of eHealth Solutions from November 2008 to September 2013.

Moreover, they served as the Secretary at the Austrian Scientific Society for Telemedicine and eHealth e.V. (ASSTEH) from August 2008 to May 2012. Prior to that, they worked as the Head of health@net office at the CEMIT Center of Excellence in Medicine and IT from June 2007 to October 2008.

Thomas Schabetsberger's earlier career includes roles at UMIT - Private Universität für Gesundheitswissenschaften, Medizinische Informatik und Technik GmbH. Thomas served as the Head of Research Division for eHealth and Telemedicine from August 2006 to October 2008 and as a Universitätsassistent und Projektleiter "health@net" from March 2002 to July 2006.

Thomas Schabetsberger earned a Matura degree in Elektrotechnik from Linzer Technikum from 1986 to 1991. Thomas then attended Universität Innsbruck from 1994 to 2001, where they received a Dr.med.univ. degree in Humanmedizin. Later, they pursued further education at Private Universität für Gesundheitswissenschaften, Medizinische Informatik und Technik from 2001 to 2009, resulting in a Dr.sc.biomed.inf. degree in Biomedizinische Informatik.
