Sherry Hao

As Energy Services Program Director, Sherry Hao works to assist communities throughout the Sierra to advance sustainable strategies, promote energy efficiency and renewable energy, and build climate resilience.

Throughout her career, Sherry has been driven by finding challenging and impactful work. Her path began from a technical engineering background but traversed to environmental justice, then youth resiliency, and on to green building and energy sustainability. Sherry has over 20 years of experience in project management, design, and implementation, in addition to over 10 years of experience as an energy resources professional, specializing in energy efficiency and renewable energy. She has served as a senior energy program manager at both EN2 Resources and Energy Solutions, the latter of which included an executive director role at the Cool Roof Rating Council. She holds a BS in Mechanical Engineering, with a Bioengineering option, from Cornell University. Sherry also serves on the board of the Lake Tahoe Bicycle Coalition, the board of the Tahoe Transportation District, and on the city of South Lake Tahoe’s 100% Renewable Committee.
