Andira Ramos, Ph.D., is a Systems Engineer in Avionics at Sierra Space since September 2019. Prior experience includes serving as a Graduate Student Research Assistant at the University of Michigan from April 2014 to May 2019, where Andira designed an optical laser system and built an ultra-high vacuum system for cold-atom spectroscopy experiments. Additional roles include a Visiting Graduate Student Research Assistant at the University of Amsterdam, focusing on optical lattice laser setups and international collaborations, and a Research Assistant at Florida International University, optimizing photo-multiplier tubes and developing Ring Imaging Cherenkov detectors. Prior undergraduate research positions were held at MIT and Michigan State University, contributing to various nuclear physics and reactor design projects. Educational qualifications include a Ph.D. in Physics and a Master’s Degree in Electrical and Electronics Engineering from the University of Michigan, as well as a Bachelor of Science in Physics from Florida International University.
