Rachel Elise Graber grew up on the East Coast in Connecticut and spent her late teens living in Israel, working as a volunteer with Ethiopian refugees and at different army bases throughout the country. Upon her return, she attended and graduated from Temple University in Philadelphia, PA with her undergraduate degree as a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology. She then continued on to obtain her Master of Social Work from Columbia University with a focus on Advanced Direct Clinical Practice.

During her first year of her Master’s program, she interned as a School Social Worker at a charter school in East Harlem assisting 9th and 10th graders to navigate social, familial, and economic hardships. In Rachel’s second year of her graduate program, she interned at NYU Langone Medical Center in both the inpatient and outpatient units of the Kidney and Liver Transplant Center where her responsibilities included conducting Biopsychosocial assessments, assessing candidates for transplant, providing individual and group/family counseling services, connecting patients and families to local resources, providing psychoeducation on medical adherence, treatment plans and conducting comprehensive discharge planning.

Rachel has experience working in mental healthcare, addiction treatment, education, judicial, non-profit, and human resource fields. She has often worked on multidisciplinary teams and believes in effective continuity of care for all patients. She puts a strong emphasis on trauma-informed and patient-focused care.

Rachel is currently working as a Residential Therapist at Sierra Tucson and is focused on Co-Occurring Mental Health and Substance Use Disorder/ Addiction treatment. Her goal is to provide top quality care and to create a positive and productive environment for both patients and staff to learn and thrive in.
