Karen Corbett, SPHR, CPSP

Karen Corbett, SPHR, CPSP has a diverse and extensive work experience spanning several companies and roles. Karen most recently worked as a Human Resources Specialist at Sigma7 since November 2022. Prior to that, they held the position of Senior HR Business Partner at Armacell from April 2019 to September 2022. Karen also served as the Regional Human Resources Manager at Armacell from May 2013 to March 2019.

Before joining Armacell, Karen worked as the Director of Human Resources at L&M Companies, Inc. from August 2005 to May 2013. In this role, they provided leadership and direction to the HR organization, overseeing all aspects of HR, including recruitment, staffing, employee benefits and relations, policy development, interpretation and compliance, and training and development.

Karen also worked as the Manager of Human Resources at Highwoods Properties from April 1999 to August 2005. Their responsibilities included HR policy development and implementation for over 550 employees across multiple states. Karen managed functional areas such as compensation and benefits, staffing, employee relations, and performance management.

Earlier in their career, Karen served as the Legal Administrator at Schwartz & Shaw from October 1998 to March 1999. Karen also held the position of Corporate HR Manager at Ragazzi's Restaurants from August 1991 to October 1998. In this role, they were responsible for the management policies and procedures for the restaurant’s 21 locations and over 900 employees. Karen played a key role in expanding the HR department as the company grew and placed emphasis on staffing and employee relations.

Karen Corbett, SPHR, CPSP has a B.A. degree in Business Management from North Carolina State University. Karen also holds a Certificate in Dental Assisting from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. In addition to their formal education, Karen has obtained several certifications, including the Certified Plan Sponsor Professional from the Plan Sponsor Council of America in November 2020, the SHRM Senior Certified Professional from SHRM in August 2015, and the Senior Professional in Human Resources from the HR Certification Institute - HRCI in December 1996.
