Michael Liu

Michael Liu is a seasoned professional in the field of battery engineering and clean energy leadership. Currently serving as a Staff Battery Engineer for Automotive Programs at Sila Nanotechnologies Inc. and a Fellow at the Clean Energy Leadership Institute, Michael is actively involved in shaping effective clean energy solutions. As Managing Director of the Battery Forum NA at the Volta Foundation, Michael oversees a team that organizes prominent industry conferences. Michael's experience includes roles at Apple, focusing on battery product development and manufacturing, research at Georgia Institute of Technology and University of California, Berkeley, and leadership in the UC Berkeley Solar Vehicle Team, contributing to award-winning solar vehicle projects. Michael holds a Master of Science in Materials Science from Georgia Institute of Technology and a Bachelor of Science in Materials Science from the University of California, Berkeley.
