Dr. Aftab Alam

Dr. Aftab Alam has extensive work experience in various scientific and research roles. Dr. Aftab started their career in 1998 as a Scientific Specialist at KACST and worked there until 2012. Dr. Aftab then joined King Abdullah University of Science and Technology as a Senior Research Scientist from 2013 to 2015. Following that, Dr. Alam served as Vice President at Edenworks from 2015 to 2018. In 2018, they briefly worked as an International Aquaponics Consultant for the Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations. Dr. Alam then joined NEOM as a Consultant in 2019 before moving to AeroFarms as Director of R&D. From 2017 to 2023, they worked as the Director of Research & Development at A&A Epiphany. Currently, Dr. Aftab Alam holds the position of Lead Scientist at Silal since September 2023.

Dr. Aftab Alam has a Master's Degree in MPhil in Zoology (Hydrobiology, Fisheries, and Aquaculture) from Aligarh Muslim University, which they obtained from 1994 to 1995. Dr. Aftab went on to pursue a Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D.) in Zoology (Hydrobiology, Fisheries, and Aquaculture) from the same university, completing it from 1995 to 1998. Additionally, they have acquired a Doctor of Philosophy - Ph.D. in Applied Aquaculture and Fisheries with a focus on Aquaponics, Aquaculture, and Urban Agriculture.
