Development And Application Engineer at Silicon Line

Ubaid Ahmed Shafi has had a varied work experience. In 2020, they worked as a Development and Application Engineer at Silicon Line GmbH. In 2019, they were a Master Thesis Student at Infineon Technologies, where they simulated and modeled capacitive-based MEMS ultrasonic transceivers for airborne applications using COMSOL and hardware description language Verilog-A modules. Ubaid Ahmed also was an Intern at Infineon Technologies, where they performed calibration, measurement tasks, and optimization of measurement setups for ultrasonic transceivers, as well as measurements of microphone characteristics and ultrasonic sensitivity in anechoic chambers. In 2017, they were a Research Assistant at Fraunhofer-Institut für Solare Energiesysteme ISE, where they assisted in different experiments in the laboratory, measured and evaluated cavities in semiconductors with a Scanning Acoustic Microscope, and characterized etched and chemical mechanical polished silicon surfaces using an Atomic Force Microscope.

Ubaid Ahmed Shafi's education history includes a Master of Science in Microsystems Engineering from The University of Freiburg (2016-2019), a Bachelor of Engineering (BE) in Mechatronics from NUST (2009-2013), a Goethe Institut from the National University of Modern Languages (2015), an F.Sc in Pre-Engineering from Sir Syed College for Boys (2007-2009), and a Matriculation in Mathematics and Computer Science from SiddiquePublic School (1996-2007).
