Process Engineering Manager at Silicon Mountain

Curtis Thompson has a long history of work experience in the manufacturing industry. Curtis began their career in 1993 as a Sr. Manufacturing Process Development Engineer at MCMS, where they were awarded 12 US patents for innovations in manufacturing tooling and processes. In 2000, they moved to Extreme Networks as a Sr. Process Quality Engineer, where they traveled to suppliers worldwide to evaluate products and processes. In 2001, they continued their work at Extreme Networks as a Sr. Process Quality Engineer Contractor at The OCJ Group. In 2003, they co-founded Stile N' Doors, where they served as President and CEO, and was responsible for all functional areas including Manufacturing, Engineering, Finance, Materials, HR, and Quality. In 2004, they moved to Plexus as a Micro Electronics Process Development Engineer, where they developed Micro E processes for new products. In 2006, they moved to Electronic Controls Company (ECCO) as a Production Engineering Team Lead, where they were responsible for all NPI and ongoing production support. In 2009, they moved to Scentsy as a Sr Production Engineer, where they established the Quality Department and championed a Lean project for rail car wax delivery. In 2017, they moved to Woodgrain Doors as a Continuous Improvement / Quality Manager, where they directed company quality improvement initiatives. Finally, in 2018, they moved to Silicon Mountain Contract Services - SMCS as a Process Engineering Manager, where they were in charge of developing new manufacturing processes and tooling in addition to designing plant layout and material flow.

Curtis Thompson attended Meridian High School from 1981 to 1984. Curtis then attended Brigham Young University - Idaho from 1984 to 1987, where they studied Engineering. In 1988, they transferred to Brigham Young University, where they obtained a Bachelor of Applied Science (B.A.Sc.) in Manufacturing Engineering Technology in 1993. Curtis also holds a Lean Six Sigma Black Belt certification from the Six Sigma Global Institute.
