Jim Barfield

Jim Barfield, CSP, CHST has extensive experience in environmental health and safety (EHS) management. Jim is currently the Founder/CEO of Envalence Environmental Services Corporation, a position they have held since January 2022. Prior to that, they served as the Director of Environment Health Safety & Security at Silicon Ranch Corporation beginning in April 2021.

From September 2013 to April 2021, Jim worked for Duke Energy Corporation as an EHS Manager. Their earlier experience includes working as an EHS Engineer at Michelin, where they developed and implemented EHS policies and training programs, and as an Environmental Health Specialist in the US Army.

Throughout their career, Jim has achieved significant accomplishments, including reducing OSHA recordable incidents, implementing behavior-based safety initiatives, and developing leading indicators for proactive safety measures. Jim is a Certified Safety Professional (CSP) and a Certified Health and Safety Technician (CHST).

Jim Barfield, CSP, CHST has a Master of Business Administration - MBA from The Graduate School at UNC Pembroke, specializing in Business Administration and Management. Jim also holds a Bachelor of Science (BS) in Environmental Science from Thomas Edison State University.
