Michelle Fries

Michelle leads the Alliance of Silicon Valley Community Foundations, and the Capacity-Building and Leadership Investment Program. In these roles, she stewards relationships and directs assets to serve nonprofits in our region.

Michelle has been with the community foundation since 2003. During her tenure she has worn many hats and been involved in a multitude of programs and projects that have centered around capacity support for nonprofit organizations.

Michelle was born and raised in the agricultural rich central valley community of Clovis, California. She worked and studied on the East Coast where she called both Boston and Miami home, before settling in Silicon Valley. While in Boston, she earned a Master of Education degree in conflict resolution and peaceable schools from Lesley College. One of Michelle’s greatest joys is being a mother, she is proud to have raised three exceptional young women.
