Jake Nichols has a diverse work experience spanning various roles and companies. Jake started in 1992 with the United States Air Force, where they served in different assignments, including Cyber Operations and Training, Air Force Basic Military Training, and leadership roles in the communications curriculum flight. Jake also worked as a Training Specialist at X Technologies, Inc., where they directed a team and developed training objectives and curriculum for Offensive and Defensive Cyber Operators. At AT&T, they served as a Cyber Exercise Planner, providing inputs for operational planning and execution in Offensive and Defensive Cyber Command and Control processes. Jake then joined Diversified Technical Services, Inc. (DTSI) as a Sr Test Engineer and later as a Technical Writer and Site Lead, where they led teams and directed cyber weapon system sustainment activities. Jake also worked at Silotech Group, Inc. as a Business Development (BD) Technical Proposal Writer and currently holds the position of a Business Development (BD) Technical Solutions Engineer. Overall, Jake has extensive experience in technical writing, training development, cyber operations, and leadership roles.
Jake Nichols has a diverse education history. Jake obtained a Bachelor of Applied Science (BASc) degree in Resource and Technology Management from Troy University in 2016. Prior to that, they completed the Instructor Certification Program (ICP) at the Community College of the Air Force in 2008. Jake also holds two Associate's degrees from the Community College of the Air Force, one in Instructor of Technology and Military Science and the other in Information Technology.
In addition to their formal education, Jake has obtained several certifications. Jake received the CF APMP certification from APMP in April 2022. In October 2019, they earned the Scrum Master Certified (SMC) designation from Scaled Agile, Inc. Jake also holds the SAFe 4 Practitioner Certification from the same institution, acquired in September 2019. Furthermore, Jake obtained the EPA Section 608 Certification - Refrigerant Handling from Mainstream Engineering Corporation in February 2017. Finally, they became CompTIA Security+ certified by CompTIA in June 2011.
