Cloud Architect at Silvertree

Chris Chubb has a diverse work experience spanning several industries and roles. From 2022 to the present, they have been working as a Cloud Architect at Silvertree, where they take ownership of the interface between resource constrained hardware and the cloud, striving to improve the connection in terms of speed, durability, measurement, automation, and cost-effectiveness.

Prior to this, Chris held the role of President at Code Gurus, Inc. from 1996 onwards. At Code Gurus, they specialized in short term, intensive development projects for clients, including the design of executive information systems, financial analysis programs, commercial web analysis programs, web site support scripts, e-commerce sites tied into legacy databases, and large document management systems.

From 2017 to 2022, Chris worked as a Cloud Architect and Developer at Stanley Black & Decker, Inc. In this role, they led cloud architecture and development efforts to support DEWALT BLE enabled tool management, control, and geospatial tracking. Chris built serverless microservices using Infrastructure-as-Code (IaC) and implemented comprehensive testing and CI/CD pipelines. Chris also provided service and feature development metrics to management.

As the Lead Data Architect at Avatar Solutions from 2013 to 2016, Chris was responsible for designing and building a reporting and analysis database containing healthcare quality of care metrics. Chris developed an ETL system to extract and transform data from legacy systems into a star schema reporting database, ensuring performance, stability, and system quality.

From 2009 to 2013, Chris worked within the Technical Team at Call Loop, where they were involved in back-end .NET service architecture and coding, as well as front-end Kohana PHP development and client UI in jQuery.

Earlier in their career, Chris served as a Reporting and Performance Consultant at Government Payment EXP from 2008 to 2011, and as a Consultant and Contractor at Triad Communication from 1997 to 2007.

Starting in 1994, Chris worked at the Institute for Defense Analyses as a Cost Analysis Programming and Support specialist. In this role, they provided support to cost analysts by developing applications and designing database systems for processing government cost data. Some examples of their work included government cost repositories, FYDP future projection systems, and multi-language NATO compliance stockpile catalogs. Chris also held a DoD Secret Clearance during their time at the Institute for Defense Analyses.

Chris Chubb completed their Bachelor of Science in Computer Engineering (BSCE) at Penn State University from 1991 to 1994. Chris then pursued further education at Virginia Tech, where they obtained a Master of Science in Electrical Engineering (MSEE) from 1993 to 1997. In terms of certifications, Chris obtained the AWS Certified Solutions Architect – Associate certification from Amazon Web Services (AWS) in January 2021, and in January 2022, they achieved the AWS Certified Developer - Associate (DVA) certification, also from AWS.
