Ecommerce Product Owner

The company is seeking a Product Owner to join their Tech team, focusing on the Faithful to Nature and Pet Heaven brands' digital products, such as their website and related technology platforms. The Product Owner will lead in defining user stories, managing the product backlog, and overseeing agile methodologies for Magento 2 projects. Responsibilities include identifying new features, quality assurance, change requests, and bug fixes to ensure timely delivery. They will manage sprint processes, act as the main contact for non-critical issues, and escalate critical items, coordinating communications between developers, stakeholders, and executive management. Collaboration with Group Product Managers and the Group Head of Technology is crucial to execute strategic product roadmaps effectively.

ROLES & RESPONSIBILITIES

• Project management:
  • Create, manage and follow-up on software development tickets
  • Prepare product driven initiatives and present identified opportunities to key stakeholder, formulating the product road map
  • Prioritise tasks, with the Group Product Manager and business leaders
  • Work with other departments to approve deployments and train business users
  • Administer and lead sprint rhythms
  • Test and Drive Quality Assurance
  • Draft/collate all reports (time logging, sprint velocity, etc)
  • Manage multiple projects and components simultaneously
• System expertise:
  • Serve as an expert on the systems with the area of responsibility, to help other departments with queries and support
  • Own and drive/execute testing and/or prepare and manage testing plans for all deployments
  • Manage day-to-day communications between business and tech team (via internal communication channels)
  • Identify process efficiencies and product driven initiatives through a well founded base of systems expertise
• User experience improvement:

  • Evaluate weaknesses and opportunities to improve the customer experience or operational efficiency, and turn these into development tasks

  • Generate and/or develop ideas for new features that will surprise and delight our customers, and work with the tech team to bring them to life!

  • Research market trends and opportunities through the use of data and analytics

KEY REQUIREMENTS

Qualification & Experience

• A relevant degree/diploma or equivalent

• 3+ years of product management/project management experience in an agile environment

• Previous experience in business analysis and/or quality assurance

• Solid understanding of prevailing software project management methodologies, e.g., Scrum and agile, and common ticket management tools, e.g., JIRA, Asana

• Ecommerce understanding and experience

• Experience within e-commerce or similar environment, especially with the Magento e-commerce platform
• Experience with software development, HTML, etc.
