Taiwo Akinpelu

Taiwo Akinpelu has a diverse work experience spanning various roles and industries. Taiwo currently holds the position of Marketing Director at Simba Group since November 2021. Prior to this, they worked at Buffer as a Director/Advisory and later as a Commercial Director from October 2019 to November 2021. Taiwo also served as the Sales and Marketing Director at MobiVerse from August 2017 to October 2019.

Before joining MobiVerse, Akinpelu worked as a Senior Product Marketing Manager (Mobile VAS) at Buffer Media Limited from May 2015 to July 2017. Taiwo started their career with NTH Group, where they served as the Country Manager for Nigeria from February 2011 to April 2015.

Akinpelu also gained valuable experience at Oliver Nelson Ltd as the Group Head of Business Development from May 2009 to January 2012. Taiwo began their professional journey as a Teller at Bank PHB Plc from September 2007 to March 2009. Taiwo initially embarked on their career path as an Online Content Editor at Delta Printing & Publishing Company Ltd (The Pointer Newspaper) from September 2005 to August 2007.

Taiwo Akinpelu has a diverse education history. In 2000-2004, they obtained a Higher National Diploma in Mass Communication/Media Studies from Moshood Abiola Polytechnic. In 2011-2014, they earned a Bachelor of Arts (B.A.) degree in Communication and Language Arts from the University of Ibadan. In 2017-2018, Taiwo obtained a Level 6 Diploma in Professional Marketing from CIM | The Chartered Institute of Marketing, specializing in Strategic Marketing and Managing Brands. Additionally, during the same period, they completed a Diploma in Java Technology (SE) from New Horizons Computer Learning Centers-Lagos, focusing on Programming and Software Development. In 2019-2020, they pursued a PGP (Post Graduate Program) in Data Science & Business Analytics from Texas McCombs School of Business. Most recently, in 2023-2024, Taiwo completed a Master of Business Administration (MBA) degree in Business Administration and Management, General at Lagos Business School, Pan-Atlantic University. Alongside their formal education, Taiwo has engaged in various additional certifications, including courses in Management Communication from Harvard Business Publishing Education and certifications in areas such as Marketing Effectiveness and Brand Management.
