Daniel

(Lead Grant Writer) at Simbi Foundation

Daniel is currently the Lead Grant Writer at Simbi Foundation, a position they have held for several years. Prior to that, they were with KILSYTH CO-OPERATIVE SOCIETY LIMITED (Kelvin Valley Honey) for just over a year, where they served as the Product Development, Market Research and Communications Coordinator. There, they were responsible for conducting product development, performing online marketing goals and managing promotional campaigns, conducting market research and analysis, and providing recommendations to revamp and restructure messaging strategy. Before that, they were with the British Council as part of their Students for Social Impact Programme (SSIM). As a participant, they helped shape the future of the programme by providing feedback on the pilot programme, and presented Kelvin Valley Honey's social enterprise business model at the Developing Social Entrepreneurship Cultures through Cross-Sector Collaboration Conference at York St John University. Daniel has also collaborated with industry professionals and students in brainstorming how to better engage youth in social entrepreneurship.

Daniel attained a Master of Arts from Wilfrid Laurier University in Communications, New Media, and Environmental Policy. Daniel also holds a Bachelor's degree from the same school in Communication and Media Studies with a co-op option. Prior to that, Daniel completed a Diploma in General Studies from Langara College. Daniel is also certified in Smart Serve from Smart Serve Ontario.

Daniel works with Tara S - Communication and Marketing Coordinator, Hans Zhang - Solar coordinator, and Emma Thompson - TRIP Coordinator. and Adwoa Y - Grant Writer reports to Daniel. Daniel reports to Ran Sommer, Co-Founder / Director of Operations.
