Simetrik is looking for a Design Manager. This highly analytical and creative role requires deep knowledge of the UX/UI design process, its adjacent fields, and best practices to achieve user satisfaction.
As a Design Manager, you will be responsible for leading and guiding strategic verticals of the UX/UI team from the strategy to the delivery of new features. Based on deep product understanding, you will also ensure the team’s speed and quality. You will work with the tech team and the product owners to generate the most outstanding possible value for our clients and will be part of the strategic decision-making of our product development.
Responsibilities:
Set the Design strategy along with the other Design Managers within the team
Ensure alignment with Product Managers, and regular and efficient communication with stakeholders, leadership, and other teams about progress, upcoming work, and any work requests assigned to the team.
Oversee the Design team, lead and mentor direct reports, make hiring decisions for the team, and help individuals improve by providing feedback on research and design work.
Prioritize and assign work to the team while ensuring deadlines are met and manageable.
Facilitate the design process by setting and maintaining team workflows, evaluate what is and is not working, and document the design process.
Lead design reviews to explore the product, search for usability problems, and identify areas to improve.
Participate in user research to guide product design decisions (contextual inquiry, usability testing, competitive analysis, etc.)
Plan budgets with cross-functional leaders to allocate the resources necessary for the UX team to complete their work.
Onboard and support new hires to be successful
Build and maintain team values and a positive team culture
Proactively spot and fix design issues and continuously iterate on solutions
Remove bottlenecks so the team stays on track
