Stuart Altman has a diverse work experience spanning multiple industries and roles. Stuart started their career as a Clinical Needs Finding Intern at UC Davis, where they collaborated with a team to produce clinical needs finding videos for use in a biomedical engineering senior design course. Stuart then pursued research roles at the University of California, Davis, where they conducted studies on inflammation biomechanics and cardiovascular mechanobiology.

Altman later joined NanoNerve, Inc. as a Research and Development Engineer, managing the translational medicine team and leading the development of tissue-engineered medical devices. Stuart gained experience in FDA regulatory interactions, design controls, and quality systems.

At athenahealth, Altman worked as a Product Innovation Associate and Senior Product Innovation Associate at Epocrates, Inc. Stuart was responsible for end-to-end software product efforts, emphasizing hypothesis testing, data-driven decision making, and user research.

Altman then transitioned to Vineti, starting as a Product Manager and eventually rising to Vice President, Product, Chief Product Officer, and Senior Vice President, Product. Stuart led product teams and played a pivotal role in bringing personalized therapy management applications to market, driving global adoption in multiple clinical sites and integrated systems. Stuart also supported fundraising efforts, securing over $115 million in venture funding.

Currently, Altman holds the position of Director of Product Management at Simple HealthKit, where they are the first product management hire. Stuart is responsible for leading product efforts across physical and digital product lines, focusing on at-home and in-clinic diagnostic testing.

Stuart Altman has a Bachelor of Science (B.S.) degree in Biomedical/Medical Engineering from the University of California, Davis. Additionally, they hold a Master of Translational Medicine degree in Bioengineering and Biomedical Engineering from both the University of California, Berkeley and the University of California, San Francisco - School of Medicine.
