Kawai B. is a seasoned tax professional with extensive experience in global taxation and compliance. Currently the Head of Tax at SimplePractice since April 2025, Kawai previously held roles such as Global Direct Tax Lead at OpenAI and Tax Director at PTC, following the acquisition of ServiceMax, where Kawai served as Head of Tax and was instrumental in establishing the tax team overseeing taxation across multiple jurisdictions. Prior roles include Global Direct Tax Manager at JUUL Labs, where Kawai contributed to tax processes during rapid growth, and Income Tax Compliance Lead at Google, focusing on federal and state income tax compliance. Kawai began the career as a Senior Tax Accountant at SanDisk Corporation, handling a range of tax areas.
