Matheus Barroso

Matheus Barroso has a diverse work experience spanning various industries. Matheus is currently working as the Head of Forecasting at Simporter, where they lead a team and focuses on the development and deployment of forecasting models using machine learning techniques. Prior to this, Matheus worked as a Data Science Specialist at BNP Paribas Cardif, where they provided technical leadership in the development of machine learning models for projects related to pricing, operations, and legal departments. Matheus also worked as an Instructor at Let's Code, teaching coding skills to students. Additionally, Matheus has experience as a Data Scientist at Itau BBA, a Board Member at Hidrelétrica Pipoca S.A., and an Economic Financial Analyst at CEMIG. Matheus started their career with a finance internship at Banco Santander and also worked as a Research Assistant at Fundação João Pinheiro, where they conducted research projects and published results in congress annals and book chapters.

Matheus Barroso holds a Master of Science (MS) degree in Statistics from Universidade Federal de Minas Gerais, which they obtained from 2016 to 2018. Prior to that, they pursued a Specialization in Applied Statistics from the same university from 2015 to 2016. Matheus completed their undergraduate studies at Ibmec, where they earned a Bachelor's degree in Economics from 2008 to 2012. In addition to their formal education, Matheus has obtained various certifications, including "A Complete Reinforcement Learning System (Capstone)" from Coursera, "AI For Everyone" from Cou, and "Criando uma equipe de ciência de dados" from Coursera, among others.
