Jeremy Gilstrap

Executive Vice President, Innovation at Simpson Strong-Tie

Jeremy Gilstrap has a diverse work experience spanning over two decades. Jeremy has been with Simpson Strong-Tie, a leading company in the construction industry, since 2001. Jeremy started as a Branch Engineer providing technical support to the Southeast U.S. branch. Jeremy then moved on to become the Manager of the Branch Engineering group, where they established and managed a team that provided excellent service to the sales team and customers. This role became highly valued within the organization and was adopted by all branches.

Jeremy's career at Simpson Strong-Tie continued to progress as they became the Manager of the Connector and Lateral Systems Engineering R&D group, where they oversaw the development of innovative products and led the restructuring of operations that significantly increased testing capacity. Jeremy then became the Director of Engineering Services, where they established a new division that provided engineering services to internal and external customers. Jeremy successfully implemented a low-cost overseas operation and created efficient organizational structures and processes.

Jeremy's next role was as Vice President of Engineering, leading a global team responsible for all engineering activities. Jeremy reduced operating expenses while achieving annual objectives and implemented processes to manage a remote workforce. Following this, they took on the position of Vice President of Concrete Construction Products, where they turned around an underperforming business segment. Jeremy supported the product management, manufacturing operations, engineering, marketing, and sales teams in North America and China.

Most recently, Jeremy has been serving as the Vice President and Northwest Branch Manager, overseeing the operations of the Northwest US Branch. Jeremy managed a large team of over 500 employees and was responsible for various aspects of the business, including purchasing, manufacturing, selling, shipping, supporting, and accounting.

Prior to joining Simpson Strong-Tie, Jeremy worked as a Design Engineer at Isbell Engineering from 1998 to 2001.

Throughout their career, Jeremy has consistently demonstrated their leadership skills, ability to turn around business segments, and drive innovation.

Jeremy Gilstrap completed their education at the University of Wyoming, where they obtained a Bachelor of Science (B.S.) degree in Civil Engineering from 1991 to 1996. Jeremy further pursued their education at the same institution and earned a Master of Science (M.S.) degree in Civil Engineering from 1996 to 1997.
