Lucy Obahor

Lucy Obahor has a diverse work experience starting with their role as a Back End Developer at Simpu (Techstars '22) in 2023. Prior to that, they worked at Skills Outside School Foundation as a Data Assistant from August 2021 to May 2023. In this role, they contributed to team efforts by accomplishing related tasks, created and maintained data registries, followed data program techniques and procedures, prioritized data entry, conducted research analysis, provided data for baseline expansion, and identified relevant stakeholders. In 2022, Lucy also worked as a Back End Developer at GMTsoftware from June 2022 to April 2023. Lucy participated in a Leadership Exchange Program at Jela Development Initiative in July and August 2021. Additionally, Lucy worked as a Case Manager at Dorothy Njemanze Foundation (DNF) from June 2020 to June 2021. In this role, they provided direct support to survivors of sexual and gender-based violence (SGBV) through various means such as medical, police, economic, legal, and psychological support. Lucy also input data on the dashboard and received calls for new cases, attending training on SGBV.

Lucy Obahor began their education at the University of Abuja in 2015, where they pursued a diploma in Law until 2017. Following this, they continued their academic journey at the same university and obtained a Bachelor of Science degree in Sociology and Anthropology, which they completed in 2021. In addition to their formal education, Lucy has also obtained various certifications. In January 2021, they acquired a Diploma in depression from Alison - Free Online Learning and completed a course in Storytelling for Impact at Philanthropy University. Moreover, they obtained certifications in Prevention of Sexual Exploitation and Abuse from Agora UNICEF in November 2020, and in Managing Gender-Based Violence in Emergencies from the United Nations Population Fund (UNFPA) in July 2020.
