Rod Shields

Rod Shields has a long and diverse work experience in finance and accounting. Rod has held various leadership roles in renowned companies such as Sims Limited, Asciano, Pacific National, Salmat, Coca-Cola Amatil, Pacific Waste Management, and Price Waterhouse Coopers. Shields' most recent position was as the Global Head of Finance & Shared Services at Sims Limited since September 2021. Prior to that, they served as the Chief Financial Officer for the North American Metals division at Sims Limited from February 2018 to September 2021. Additionally, Shields held the position of Chief Financial Officer for Australia / NZ at Sims Limited from June 2009 to January 2018. Rod'searlier roles include Group General Manager Commercial at Asciano, General Manager - Finance at Pacific National, Divisional Director of Finance and Group Financial Controller at Salmat, various finance-related positions at Coca-Cola Amatil, Corporate Accounting Manager at Coca-Cola Amatil, and Senior Financial Accountant at Pacific Waste Management. Shields began their career as a Senior Accountant - Audit at Price Waterhouse Coopers in 1989.

Rod Shields completed their education in a chronological manner. In 1986, they obtained their Bachelor of Economics degree with a major in Accounting from Macquarie University. Rod further pursued their education and achieved an MBA degree from Deakin University between 1996 and 1998. Recently, in 2021, Rod focused on Strategy at The Wharton School. Additionally, they are currently pursuing a Bachelor of Wine Business from Charles Sturt University since 2016.
