Doug Whipple has a diverse work experience spanning multiple industries and roles. Doug began their career as an Airman in the United States Air Force from June 1973 to June 1977. Following that, they joined The Dow Chemical Company in January 1989, where they held various positions over the course of nearly three decades. These roles included Energy Regulatory Affairs Manager, Manufacturing Production Leader, Texas Ops Site Leadership, Emergency Operations and Planning Director, and Water Strategy Director. Their responsibilities involved implementing best work practices, developing leadership, establishing a culture of trust and continuous improvement, managing onboarding and training programs, and overseeing emergency preparation and response. Additionally, they contributed to legislative and regulatory activities related to energy and served as the Chairman of the Texas Industrial Energy Consumers Coalition. In 2012, Whipple worked as a Senior Consultant at The Sinclair Group before joining The Arbinger Institute in August 2018 as a Senior Consultant. At both consultancy firms, they provided expertise in enterprise effectiveness and consulting services.
Doug Whipple received their Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering from the University of New Mexico from 1978 to 1981. Doug also obtained a Bachelor of Science (BS) in Electrical Engineering from The University of New Mexico during the same period. In terms of additional certifications, Doug became a Certified Professional Engineer from the State of Texas in May 1981. Doug also obtained certification as a Certified Facilitator in 7-habits and Speed of Trust from Franklin-Covey in March 1989.
