Chris Beingessner joined Singapore American School in July 2015 as a middle school deputy principal. Prior to coming to Singapore, Beingessner held numerous teaching and school leadership roles K-12. Prior to coming to SAS, he was a vice principal in Saskatchewan, Canada, for five years, and before that taught high school English and math. His first foray into international teaching was when he served as a middle school teacher and coordinator at NISC in Phnom Penh, Cambodia. He began his career teaching middle school in small towns around Saskatchewan.
Beingessner holds a bachelor of education specializing in English and mathematics education from the University of Regina, and a master’s degree in educational curriculum and instruction from there as well. His thesis was a narrative about the power of interdisciplinary project-based learning to engage and empower students.
