Certifications:

Greenville is an expanding diverse facility with a quality lab on-site for media sieve analysis, media inspection scales, peening coverage inspection, fluorescent tracer systems, surface profilometers, microscopes, videoscopes, borescopes, Almen gages, intensity and residual stress verification devices.  We offer a wide variety of automated, CNC, computerized, shot peening machines capable of processing internal and external diameters.  In addition, we have an assortment of automatic air and wheel shot peening machines for tumble blasting / cleaning capabilities.

We also offer walk-in blasting and cleaning capabilities for large components and assemblies that are not easily processed using more traditional cabinets and machines for cleaning and cosmetic restoration.  Greenville also has tumble blast and mass-media finishing capabilities to enhance our surface processing offerings.

Our technicians, engineers, and managers are experienced in solving your most difficult challenges and can provide guidance to you and your team with regard to your surface enhancement needs.  We offer a wide variety of media from glass beads, ceramics, and various metallic media for decontamination, micro/nano peening, cleaning, texturing, blasting, and other special processes. We stock sufficient quantities of steel shot and cut-wire sizes in both standard and high hardness varieties to ensure the shot peening process is effective and meets your most stringent requirements.

Our plant is ITAR registered with Directorate of Defense Trade Controls (DDTC) with several customer approvals. Equally important, our plant is ISO 9001 certified, NADCAP Accredited for Quality System AC7004 and AC7117 Shot Peening, Peen Forming, and Glass Bead Peening.

Our Greenville plant is strategically located in the Southeast to serve a wide variety of industries, including automotive, aerospace, forging / casting, agricultural equipment and other related industries.

Full job description:

This is a Hands-On position which includes planning, directing and coordinating the machine shop’s workforce to ensure an efficient execution of the production plan and manufacturing activities are met.  Responsible for maintaining a safe work environment, producing high quality work, supporting continuous improvement efforts, and delivering product on-time to our customers.

Essential Functions/Job Responsibilities:

  • Maintain a presence on the shop floor to support employees, promote performance to established standards and resolve problems as they occur.
  • Operate Peening equipment to assist in fulfilling production needs.
  • Promote a safe work environment, compliance with safety standards and prompt accident reporting.
  • Plan and establish work schedules and assignments in support of production goals.
  • Monitor and maintain adherence to quality standards, production time standards and work instructions.
  • Foster effective employee relations, manage employee performance and provide employee coaching and development.
  • Interpret specifications, blueprints, job orders, and company policies & procedures to staff.
  • Coordinate new employee training as required to ensure acceptable performance of the individual’s specific job requirements, as well as to develop an overall awareness of company operations surrounding the individual job function. Communicate and help employees understand company policies.
  • Review records of employee’s attendance and hours worked within our payroll, review time off requests following wage and hour laws/company pay policy.
  • Prepare, compile, and promptly submit reports on KPIs, work activities and operations.
  • Responsible for interviewing and hiring new employees as needed.
  • Complete and deliver annual performance reviews for employees.
  • Work closely with Manufacturing Engineers, Quality Manager and Plant Manager to troubleshoot or optimize processes.
  • Oversee the Incoming Inspection of parts to detect defects or malfunctions.  Report any findings to the Quality Manager.
  • Work with other managers to coordinate work in the department.
  • Execute production control tasks in ERP system as required. May include work order packet creation, production tracking, operation validation and corrections and inventory discrepancy resolution.
  • Engage and participate in customer meetings, establishing deadlines, interacting with the rest of the team members.
  • Engage employees to help recommend and implement measures to improve worker motivation, equipment performance, work methods, and reduce costs.
  • Ability to understand and resolve people and process related problems
  • Ensure proper care and condition of all Greenville National Peening tools and equipment.
  • Perform additional functions as requested by management.

Education and/or Experience:

  • Degree in Industrial Technology, Engineering or Business is preferred.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in manufacturing environments with team leadership and/or supervisory experience.
  • Knowledge of ISO Quality systems and LEAN principles.
  • Hands-on experience with basic Machine Shop equipment (i.e., Lathe, Milling Machine, Grinding, hand tools, precision measuring equipment, print reading.
  • Hands-on knowledge with CNC machining (Basic G Code functions)
  • Knowledge with basic trouble-shooting and welding is a plus.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, working with shop floor personnel and other departments, as well as customers.
  • Strong problem analysis and resolution skills.
  • Proficiency in MS Office suite and Excel.
  • Proficiency in Shop math.

Physical Demands:

  • Ability to work in and around a manufacturing environment and have no restrictions on wearing safety footwear and protective eyewear.
  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
  • Able to wear (without restrictions) required personal protective equipment including safety eyewear and footwear.
