John Byrne

John Byrne is the managing partner at Sionic, a highly specialized firm that only services buy and sell side clients in the Capital Markets. John has over 25 years of experience in the financial services industry, including stints at Jefferies, UBS, and Deutsche Bank.

Byrne began their career at Deutsche Bank in 2007 as the Global Head of Tax Operations and Americas Head of Trust and Securities Services Operations. In this role, they were responsible for front to back tax operations across Americas, Europe and APAC. John left Deutsche Bank in 2015 to join UBS as the Americas Head of Securities Settlements Utility. In this role, they were responsible for securities settlements across the investment bank and private wealth for US and international clearance.

In 2016, Byrne left UBS to join Jefferies as the Managing Director of Operations Strategy. John left Jefferies in 2017 to join Sionic as the managing partner.

John Byrne has a certification from the Series 99 and a degree from the London Business School in Global Business Leadership. John also has a degree in Business Administration and Management from Power Memorial Academy. John has taken courses at Kingsborough Community College and the New York Institute of Finance.

John Byrne reports to Craig Sher, Chief Executive Officer. They work with Joseph Buonpastore - Managing Partner, Pino Vallejo - Managing Partner, and Sue Primmer - Chief Marketing Officer.
