Giovanni Arias Picado

Giovanni Arias Picado has had a range of work experience in the IT field. From 2008 onwards, they served as the CEO of SIRTEC Costa Rica, where they managed various IT projects including network implementation, server deployment, virtualization, and structured cabling. Giovanni also oversaw the maintenance of CCTV systems. Prior to that, Giovanni worked at HP as an ITO Service Delivery Consultant from 2007 to 2009. Giovanni started their career at REMEC as an Electronic Technician Level 1 from 2004 to 2006.

Giovanni Arias Picado has a diverse education history encompassing various fields of study. In 2013, they attended Cisco Networking Academy and obtained a CCNA Network Fundamentals certification. Giovanni continued their studies at Cisco Networking Academy in 2014, earning certifications in CCNA LAN Switching and Wireless, CCNA Routing Protocols and Concepts, and CCNA Connecting Networks. In 2015, they pursued a Computer Science diploma at Universidad Estatal a Distancia de Costa Rica.

In 2016, Giovanni attended Next University and obtained a degree in Web development. Giovanni further enhanced their technical skills in 2020 by completing the MTCNA (MikroTik Certified Network Associate) certification from Academy Xpert and acquiring the AZ-900: Microsoft Azure Fundamentals and MS-900: Microsoft 365 Fundamentals certifications from SKILL-ING.

Additionally, Giovanni engaged in further professional development by attending various courses and webinars. In 2023, they undertook several programs at IT SERVICE UNIVERSITY, including ITIL4 Fundamentos, Webinar - ITIL 4 y sus 7 principios, Taller Scrum Fundamentals IT Service 2022, Service Desk Líder, and Webinar - Por qué Management 3.0. Giovanni also attended MIND VALLEY in 2022 for a course on the keys to entrepreneurial freedom taught by Eric Edmeades.

Giovanni's educational journey includes non-technical certifications as well. In 2021, they completed an MBA in IT Management (CTO, Chief Technical Officer) at TECH Technological University. Moreover, they acquired certifications in Occupational Health and Safety for Dangerous Jobs (Curso Salud Ocupacional - Trabajos Peligrosos) from Centro de Formación Técnica SONDEL in 2021, LinkedIn for Business in 2020, and a Web Developer certification from Next U in 2016.

To complement their technical knowledge, Giovanni pursued certifications in Agile methodologies. Giovanni obtained the Scrum Product Owner Professional Certificate (SPOPC) from CertiProf in October 2023, and earlier in July 2023, they earned the Professional Scrum Master and Scrum Foundation Professional Certificate (SFPC v2020) from the same institution.
