Sebastian Goldt

Assistant Professor at SISSA

Sebastian Goldt is a visiting faculty member at MIB Trieste School of Management, specializing in data-driven management since April 2023. Currently serving as an assistant professor at SISSA, Sebastian leads a research group focused on theories of learning in both artificial and biological neural networks. Previous experience includes postdoctoral research positions at Ecole normale supérieure and Institut de Physique théorique at Université Paris-Saclay, where Sebastian utilized theoretical physics to analyze machine learning challenges. Additional research stints at the Kavli Institute for Theoretical Physics and Duke University involved exploring intersections between machine learning and physics. Sebastian holds a Master's Degree in Experimental & Theoretical Physics from the University of Cambridge and a PhD in Theoretical Physics from the University of Stuttgart.
