Renaud Amar

Renaud Amar has held several positions in the software engineering field since 1999. Renaud began as a Software Engineer Intern at Dragon Systems UK R&D in 1999. Renaud then moved to Synaptics Inc. where they held the roles of Software Engineer Intern, Software Engineer, and Senior Software Engineer between 2000 and 2007. In 2007, Renaud joined Meebo Inc. as a Senior Software Engineer, where they were responsible for backend development and the design, development and maintenance of the Meebo Notifier. In 2013, they worked as a Backend Engineer (Contractor) at StreamPunch, developing a backend with node.js under Linux for a video streaming aggregation website. From 2014 to 2017, Renaud worked at BitTorrent, Inc. as a Labs Team Manager and Senior Software Engineer, developing Bleep, a P2P chat application focused on privacy and security. Lastly, they joined Sitka, Inc. in 2018 as a Software Architect.

Renaud Amar completed their Maths Sup & Spe at Lycee Kleber, Strasbourg, France from 1994 to 1997, majoring in Maths and Physics. Renaud then obtained a BSc in Physics from the University of Strasbourg from 1997 to 1998. Renaud then went on to complete an MSc in Physics, Computer Science, and Electronics at Télécom Physique Strasbourg from 1997 to 2000. In 2013, they obtained a Machine Learning certification from Coursera, and in 2014 they obtained a Certified Scrum Master certification from Scrum Alliance.
