Derek Parry

VP Legal Product, Deputy General Counsel at SixFifty

Derek Parry has a diverse range of work experience in the legal field. Derek is currently working at SixFifty as the Vice President of Legal Product and Deputy General Counsel. Prior to that, they held the position of Vice President of Legal Product at the same company.

Before joining SixFifty, Derek worked as the General Counsel at BioLogiQ Inc. and also served as an Associate General Counsel at the same company. In addition, they founded and served as the Executive Director of Code180, an organization aimed at helping non-technical professionals learn how to code.

Derek started their legal career as an Associate Attorney in the M&A Practice Group at Parr Brown Gee & Loveless. Derek also worked as a Judicial Law Clerk at the U.S. Courts of Appeals, Clerk to the Hon. N. Randy Smith.

Other roles in their work experience include serving as a Summer Associate at Parr Brown Gee & Loveless, a Judicial Extern to Chief Judge Ted Stewart at the U.S. District Courts, a Summer Legal Extern in the Office of General Counsel at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, and a Student Research Fellow at the International Center for Law and Religion Studies.

Additionally, Derek gained early legal experience as a Summer Legal Intern at Nelson Hall Parry Tucker, PLLC.

Derek Parry's education history begins in 2005 when they attended Snow College. Derek pursued a field of study emphasizing in Jazz Studies. After completing their time at Snow College in 2006, they went on to Brigham Young University - Idaho in 2008. There, they earned a Bachelor of Arts (BA) degree with a major in Music, which they completed in 2011. Following this, Derek attended BYU Law School from 2012 to 2015, where they obtained a Juris Doctor (JD) degree.
