Mikayla Carlos has ten years of work experience. Mikayla began their career in 2014 as a WINGSLeader at WINGS for kids. In 2016, they worked as a Stylist at Madewell, a Content Creator at Proud Mary Global Textiles, and a Photographer and Creative Designer at Artisan Apparel. In 2017, they worked as a Kindergarten Teacher at Kastintorn St. Peter and a Charleston Fashion Week Social Media Assistant at Charleston Magazine. In 2018, they worked as an Assistant Buyer & Customer Service, Assistant Warehouse Manager, and Design Consultant at Celadon Home, as well as a Creative Director at Artisan Global. In 2021, they became a Customer Experience at Sixpenny and a Design Selections Coordinator at SHELTER Custom-Built Living.

Mikayla Carlos attended the College of Charleston from 2013 to 2017, where they obtained a Bachelor of Arts (B.A.) in Communication. From 2015 to 2016, they attended the Youth With A Mission-University of the Nations Kona, Hawaii, studying Photography, Videography, and Social Injustice.
