Garðar Gíslason

Garðar Gíslason , born October 19, 1966, home in Garðabær. He has been a deputy member of Sjóvár's board since September 30, 2011. Garðar is a Cand.Jur. from the University of Iceland in 1997. He has worked as a lawyer since 2005, most of the time at the LEX law firm, but from 2016 at the IUS law firm. He was the chief legal officer and later the director of the Office of the State Tax Inspector and Deputy Tax Inspector from 1997-2005. Garðar sits on the boards of the following companies: IUS lögmannsstofa ehf., Destination Blue Lagoon ehf., Ránarborg ehf. (substitute), Hardbakur ehf. (substitute), Hlíðarfótr ehf. and Valshjartað hf.

Garðar has provided legal advice to Sjóvá in specific projects in the areas of administrative, corporate and capital market law.

Garðar is independent of the company, the day-to-day managers and the company's major shareholders.
