Giovanna Fabiano started their work experience in 2001 as a Reporter at The Star-Ledger, where they covered breaking news, wrote obituaries, and wrote feature pieces on various topics. Giovanna then joined Gannett Newspapers - The Courier News in 2002 as a Courts and Crime Reporter, covering high-profile trials and cases. In 2006, they became a General Assignment Reporter at The Record, covering breaking news, crime, and government issues. Giovanna worked as a Regional Editor at AOL from 2011 to 2013, managing local news sites and a team of reporters. Giovanna also worked as a Contributing Writer at USA WEEKEND Magazine in 2013. From 2015 onward, they have been working at SJR, starting as a Managing Editor and progressing to roles such as Managing Director, Global Executive Editorial Director, and their current position as Chief Content Officer. Their responsibilities at SJR include developing digital strategies, writing and editing content, overseeing a team of writers, and managing social media.
Giovanna Fabiano holds a Bachelor of Arts (B.A.) degree in Journalism from Rutgers University, where they also pursued a minor in Political Science. Additionally, they completed a Multimedia Journalism Fellowship at the UC Berkeley School of Journalism.
