Software Engineer (Curriculum) at Skiller Whale

Heather Drayson has a diverse work experience spanning various industries. Heather started their career as a Trainee Teacher of Science at Archbishop Blanch School in 2016, where they taught Chemistry, Physics, and Biology to students aged 11 to 18. During their time there, Heather focused on fostering a love of learning in their students and actively contributed to improving the marking and feedback policy.

In 2017, Heather worked as a Teacher of Science at Fulston Manor School, teaching Chemistry, Physics, and Biology to children aged 11 to 16. Heather also collaborated with an international team of teachers to develop an Erasmus program centered around the creation and marketing of Bio-plastics.

Following this, Heather gained experience as a Forest School Assistant at WILTSHIRE WILDLIFE TRUST LIMITED in 2016, where they assisted with outdoor education programs. Heather also worked as a Barista at Edwin Giddings, a part of Wadworth, during the same period.

Heather then transitioned into the field of software development, joining Makers Academy as a Software Developer in 2018. Heather later worked as a Software Engineer at Tes from 2018 to 2021, contributing to software development projects.

In 2020, Heather began working as a Yoga Teacher at LYT Yoga while also taking on the role of a Chemistry Tutor.

Most recently, Heather joined Skiller Whale in 2021 as a Software Engineer (Curriculum), where they are involved in the development of software engineering curricula.

Heather Drayson has a varied education history. Heather attended Liverpool Bluecoat School, where they obtained their GCSE degree. Heather then pursued their A Level degree in Chemistry, Biology, English Language & Literature, and AS level Maths at the same school. After completing their A Levels, they enrolled at the University of Liverpool and earned a Bachelor's degree in Chemistry from 2009 to 2012. Following this, they went on to study at Liverpool Hope University, where they obtained a Post Graduate Certificate of Education in Teacher Education and Professional Development, specializing in Science with a Chemistry specialism from 2015 to 2016. Heather also ventured into the field of Basic Mandarin at South China University of Technology from 2012 to 2013. Recently, in 2017 and 2018, they attended Makers to study Computer Software Engineering.
