Reena Kawal

Reena Kawal has a diverse and extensive work experience spanning over several companies and industries. Reena currently works at Skilljar as a Product Lead, overseeing a team of product managers focused on enhancing the user experience of the company's learning platform. Prior to Skilljar, Reena held the position of Senior Director of Product Management at Tableau Software for six years. In this role, they managed a team and led various projects related to data visualization, analytics, and web application development. Before Tableau, Reena worked at Microsoft, where they served as a Principal Program Manager and played a significant role in the development of innovative and immersive experiences for customers and employees. Reena also contributed to the Avatar Kinect project within the Startup Business Group at Microsoft. Reena's earlier experience includes working at thePlatform for Media, Inc. as a Director of Program Management, where they contributed to the growth and success of the startup by planning products and improving agile processes. Prior to that, they worked at Vulcan as a Software Engineer and Product Manager, where they collaborated with neuroscientists to develop web applications for gene mapping and visualization purposes. Reena's career began at Starwave, where they served as a Technical Producer for ABCNews.com, and later they joined Microsoft as a Software Design Engineer. Throughout their career, Reena has consistently demonstrated leadership, innovation, and expertise in product management and development.

Reena Kawal has pursued a diverse education history. Reena completed their Ph.D. work in Urban Planning/Information Systems at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology. Prior to that, they obtained a Bachelor of Arts degree from Rice University, majoring in Mathematical Economic Analysis and English. Reena continued their educational journey by earning a Master's degree in Urban Design and Planning at the University of Washington. In addition to their academic qualifications, they have also obtained certifications in various fields. This includes the Textio Equitable Performance Feedback certification from Textio in November 2022 and the Skilljar Certified Professional - Basic certification from Skilljar in May 2022.
