Matt Niemitz

Matt Niemitz has a diverse range of work experience, including roles at Skillshare, Adobe, and as an independent consultant/product designer. At Skillshare, they are currently serving as the Sr. Director of Product, where they lead product management and strategy, overseeing various products and managing a team of product managers. Notable achievements include driving a 95% increase in users submitting class projects through the implementation of a new gamification system, as well as launching the Learning Paths feature to drive member engagement and retention. During their time at Adobe, they held multiple roles, including Principal Product Manager and General Manager of Adobe Education Exchange, where they founded and led the first online community platform for learning and teaching Adobe applications. Matt grew the product to over 1 million members and generated 150,000 new Adobe software users per year. Additionally, Matt served as a Curriculum Manager, where they developed instructional resources and managed global expansion of curriculum solutions. Prior to their roles at Skillshare and Adobe, Matt worked as an independent consultant/product designer and as a Program Associate at the Consortium for Ocean Leadership.

Matt Niemitz completed their Bachelor of Science degree in Geology from William & Mary in the years 1999 to 2003. Matt then pursued an Ed.M degree in Technology, Innovation and Education (TIE) from Harvard University, attending from 2006 to 2007. In 2012, they obtained a certification in Pragmatic Marketing from Pragmatic Marketing. Recently, in 2020, they completed a short-term program called 'Engagement + Retention Deep Dive' at Reforge.
