Joel Helkala

Joel Helkala began their work experience in 2018 as a Security Guard at Loomis, where they worked as a Value Guard/Driver during the summers. In 2019, they worked as a Test Automation Developer at Telia Cygate Oy, where they focused on automation tests using Robot Framework and created Python automation programs. Joel also worked extensively with SQL. In 2020, Joel worked as a Junior Developer at Visma. In 2021, they joined Etteplan as a Software Designer, working on embedded systems and C++. Joel also contributed to the development of a test automation software and pipeline using C# and Selenium for a desktop application. Joel continued their software development career in 2022, first at Etteplan as a Software Designer, and then at Patria Aviation Oy as a Software Developer. Currently, they are working as a Software Developer at Skipperi since 2023.

Joel Helkala pursued their education in Information Technology at the University of Jyväskylä. Joel obtained their Bachelor's degree in the field from 2017 to 2020. Continuing their academic journey, they then enrolled in the same university and earned a Master's degree in Information Technology from 2021 to 2022.
