Wayne Jotham Gakuo

Wayne Jotham Gakuo is a Frontend Engineer with a wealth of experience in the tech industry. Wayne has worked at Sky.Garden since 2021, where they are a Frontend Engineer building great user experiences and features for day-to-day users. Wayne also works as a Frontend Developer at Cobiro, where they build features for the no-code website builder and implements Cobiro's UI Design System. From 2020-2021, Gakuo worked as a Frontend Engineer at GCSP Education, where they provided technological tools to connect learners and tutors on demand. Wayne was also a Frontend Engineer and Tech Lead at Foondi Tech, where they designed and built a loan management system meant to be used by small loan applicants in Kenya. Gakuo also worked as a Software Engineer and Technical Lead at Myspace Properties, designing and building a real-estate platform used by property owners, agents, and buyers. Prior to this, they were a Software Developer at KnackApp, a combination of brain science, game theory, computer and data science, digital user experience and machine learning, to help individuals know their hidden natural talents. Gakuo has also held positions at Moringa School and Developer Student Club-Ashesi University, as well as a Member of Board of Directors for the '19 Ambassador Project.

Wayne Jotham Gakuo completed their KCSE at Agan Khan High School, Mombasa from 2010 to 2013. Wayne then attended Ashesi University from 2015 to 2019, where they obtained a degree in Computer Science with a field of study in Software Engineering. Wayne also obtained certifications from Coursera, Udacity, and Andela. These include Google Cloud Platform Big Data and Machine Learning Fundamentals, Android Basics Nanodegree by Google, Google Cloud Platform Fundamentals: Core Infrastructure, Google Africa Scholarship Android Basics Course, and Africa Rising-African Leadership University.
