Aaswath Raman has worked in a variety of roles since 2005. In 2005, they were a Product Management Intern at Endeca. Aaswath then moved to Microsoft in 2006, where they were a Program Manager of the Webspam team for Live Search (Bing.com). From 2007 to 2016, they worked at the Ginzton Laboratory, Stanford University, first as a Graduate Researcher in Applied Physics and then as a Research Associate. In 2016, they co-founded SkyCool Systems Inc., where they served as both Chief Scientific Officer and CEO. From 2018 to present, they have been an Assistant Professor of Materials Science and Engineering at the University of California, Los Angeles, where they lead a research group investigating how light and heat interact with materials at the nanoscale. Additionally, from 2018 to present, they have been an Assistant Professor of Electrical and Systems Engineering at the University of Pennsylvania.
Aaswath Raman received their Bachelor's degree in Physics and Astronomy & Astrophysics from Harvard University between 2002 and 2006. Aaswath then continued their studies at Harvard University and obtained their Master's Degree in Computer Science in 2005-2006. Finally, they completed a Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D.) in Applied Physics at Stanford University between 2007 and 2013.
