Jose Manuel Garcia

Jose Manuel Garcia has extensive work experience in the animation industry. Jose Manuel currently works as a Lighting Sequence Lead at Skydance Animation since November 2020. Jose Manuel also works as a Tutor at Animum Creativity Advanced School since December 2020.

Prior to these roles, Jose was a Co-Owner at Mery Project / Trabajo personal since March 2014. In this position, they worked on the character sculpting process, facial deformations, surfacing, grooming, and was responsible for the final lighting and compositing. Jose Manuel used software such as Arnold, Mari, and Nuke.

Jose also worked as a Lighting Sequence Lead at Boulder Media from March 2018 to November 2020. Additionally, they have teaching experience as a Tutor at Animum Creativity Advanced School and U-tad, where they taught various courses related to animation and rigging.

Jose Manuel Garcia has a diverse education history. Jose Manuel obtained a Master's degree in Digital Animation from Universidad de Salamanca in 2008. In 2012, they completed another Master's degree, specializing in 3D Animation, at Universitat de les Illes Balears. Prior to that, from 2003 to 2008, they pursued a Bachelor's degree in Fine Arts, majoring in Sculpture, at Universidad de Salamanca. Jose also gained expertise in Digital Animation through a certification program at the same university in 2007, as well as attending a workshop in Digital Animation and Art Technology in 2006. In 2004, they participated in a workshop on Audiovisual Art Direction led by Felix Murcia. Before entering university, Jose completed an Artistic High School program at the Escuela de Artes y Oficios aplicados Mariano Timon in Palencia from 2001 to 2002.
