Duran Young has over 14 years of experience in the surveying and drone industry. Duran currently holds the position of Chief Drone Pilot at Skygauge Robotics, starting in 2022. Prior to this, Duran worked as a Survey/Drone Technician at Inline Group Inc. from 2021 to 2022 and at LN Land Development Technologies Inc. from 2014 to 2021. Duran also served as a Survey Party Chief at SGS from 2012 to 2014, at Athabaskan Resource Company from 2010 to 2012, and at Sureway Construction Group Ltd. from 2008 to 2010. Duran's expertise in surveying and drone technology makes him a valuable asset in the industry.

Duran Young has a diverse education history. From 2013 to 2015, they attended Northern Lakes College, where they obtained a degree in Surveying Technology/Surveying as a Survey Tech. Prior to that, they completed their high school education at father Patrick Mercredi high school from 2004 to 2008, earning a grade 12 diploma in General Studies.

In addition to their formal education, Duran Young has also acquired a range of certifications and qualifications. Duran obtained their PIX4D mapper certification from Pix4D in January 2022 and completed the Sensefly Certified Operator Course at senseFly in August 2021. In March 2021, they obtained the ROC-A certification from the Government of Canada.

Duran Young has also obtained various certifications related to safety and skills in different fields. For instance, they completed the CSTS 2020 Fundamentals course offered by the Alberta Construction Safety Association in September 2020. Duran also received training as an HSE representative from the Alberta Association For Safety Partnerships (AASP) in November 2019.

Furthermore, Duran Young holds certifications in areas such as Pleasure Craft Operation, OSSA Regional Orientation, Construction Safety Training System, Firearms License P.A.L., Advanced Operations Remotely Piloted UAV system, Flight Reviewer Rating, CPR/AED/First Aid, Confined Space Entry & Monitor, H2S Alive, Safe Work Permits, Wild Life Awareness, and Petroleum Advance Line Locating. These certifications were obtained from various institutions and agencies such as the Government of Alberta, Keyano College, Alberta Construction Safety Association, Transport Canada, Canadian Red Cross, Advantage Learning Solutions Inc., Suncor, and Locate Management Institute, among others.

Most recently, Duran Young obtained the A2 Open Sub Category certification from the EASA (European Union Aviation Safety Agency) in November 2022 and the A1/A3 Open Sub Category certification from the same agency in July 2022.
