Montserrat Perez Salvia has been working in the field of biomedicine since 2011. In 2011, they completed a final year degree research project at the University of Bath as part of an Erasmus Internship. The project involved organic synthesis of naphthalenediimides with iridium catalyzed C-H activation. In 2012, they began a Master Thesis Student role at the Institut d'Investigacions Biomèdiques August Pi i Sunyer (IDIBAPS), where they studied the implication of miRNAs in HIV pathogenesis. From 2013 to 2016, they were a PhD Research Fellow in Biomedicine at the Bellvitge Biomedical Research Institute - IDIBELL. Most recently, in 2021, they began a Scientist role at Skyhawk Therapeutics.

Montserrat Perez Salvia earned a Bachelor's degree in Chemistry from Universidad de Zaragoza between 2007 and 2012. Montserrat then completed an Erasmus Internship at the University of Bath in 2011 and 2012, where they conducted a Final Year Degree Research Project. In 2012, they earned a Master's degree in Molecular Biotechnology from Universitat de Barcelona. Finally, they earned a Doctor of Philosophy - PhD in Biomedicine (Cancer Epigenetics) from Universitat de Barcelona in 2019.
