Executive Vice President, Clinical Operations / Chief Operating Officer at Sling Therapeutics

Robin Schmidt has a diverse and extensive work experience in the pharmaceutical industry. Currently, Robin is serving as the Chief Operating Officer at Sling Therapeutics since April 2021. Prior to this role, Robin held various positions at different companies.

From 2019 to 2021, Robin worked at Millendo Therapeutics, first as the Vice President of Clinical Operations and then as the Senior Director of Clinical Operations. In these roles, Robin was responsible for developing and executing clinical trials, providing strategic and tactical input for clinical development timelines, and managing alliances with CROs and external partners. From 2013 to 2017, Robin served as the Associate Project Director of Global Project Management at inVentiv Health Clinical. In this position, Robin managed interdisciplinary teams, prepared project management plans, and oversaw operational deliverables for assigned projects.

Prior to that, Robin worked at Aastrom Biosciences as the Director of Clinical Study Management and Monitoring from 2010 to 2013. Robin's responsibilities included tracking trial progress, managing budgets, and overseeing CRO/vendor selection and management.

From 2008 to 2010, Robin served as the Senior Clinical Project Manager at Cerenis Therapeutics, where they executed and managed Phase I/II clinical trials, developed protocols, and oversaw various clinical trial activities.

Before that, Robin worked at Metabasis Therapeutics, Inc. as the Senior Clinical Trial Manager from 2007 to 2008. In this role, Robin managed Phase I/II clinical trials, conducted CRO selection, and maintained clinical SOPs.

Robin started their career at Pfizer, Inc. and worked there for a decade. They held multiple roles, including Clinical Study Operations and Clinical Scientist, where they managed global multicenter Phase III clinical trials, assisted with clinical protocol development, managed study budgets, and trained and oversaw clinical research associates.

Before joining Pfizer, Inc., Robin worked as a Clinical Research Associate at i3 Research, where they provided CRO services and monitored global multicenter Phase II/III clinical trials.

Overall, Robin Schmidt has a strong background in clinical operations, project management, and strategic leadership within the pharmaceutical industry.

Robin Schmidt has a strong educational background in nutrition and biology. They obtained a Bachelor of Science (BS) degree in Biology, General from the University of Michigan College of Literature, Science, and the Arts, graduating between 1988 and 1991. Following this, they pursued a Master of Science (MS) degree in Nutrition Sciences from the University of Michigan - Rackham Graduate School, completing their studies between 1992 and 1994.

In addition to their formal education, Robin Schmidt has acquired additional certifications. They obtained a Registered Dietician (RD) certification from the Michigan Board of Dietetics and Nutrition in 1995. Subsequently, in 1997, they achieved a CRA Certification (CCRA) from the Association of Clinical Research Professionals.
