Jawad Mahmood

Jawad Mahmood has a diverse work experience spanning various organizations and roles. Starting in 2009, they worked as a Contract - VP Treasury at Barclays before moving on to BNY Mellon as a Contract - VP Internal Audit in 2010. In 2011, Mahmood held a Contract - FSA s166 review role at Santander UK before transitioning to a Senior Audit Manager position at Royal Bank of Scotland Business. From 2013 to 2020, they worked at Direct Line Group in various roles, including Group Internal Audit and as the GIA owner for Finance, Risk, and Solvency II and IFRS17 implementation assurance. In 2008, Mahmood worked at E&Y as FS Risk and Internal Audit. Jawad then took on roles at the Ministry of Housing, Communities and Local Government as a Group Chief Internal Auditor for MHCLG - GIAA from 2020 to 2021, and at HM Treasury as the Head of Audit Authority (England) for EC programmes - GIAA from 2020 to 2022. Most recently, Mahmood served as the Group Chief Internal Auditor for the Department for Levelling Up, Housing and Communities at the Small World Financial Services.

Jawad Mahmood has a Bachelor of Commerce degree in Business Administration and Commerce from KU, obtained in 1999. Jawad also has a certification in ACA from The Institute of Chartered Accountants of Pakistan and ICAEW, and a certification in CPFA from CIPFA. Additionally, they hold the FCA degree from The Institute of Chartered Accountants of Pakistan, obtained in 2005.
