Eric Cova

Eric Cova has a diverse work experience in various communication and policy-related roles. Eric currently serves as the Director of Communications at Smart Growth America, where they collaborate with the CEO and senior leaders to develop and implement the organization's communications strategy. Prior to this, Eric worked at Educators for Excellence, where they served as the Interim National Director of Communications and Policy and later as the National Communications Manager. Eric also gained experience at NYU Robert F. Wagner Graduate School of Public Service, One Fair Wage, NYU Stern School of Business, Acceso, World Resources Institute, Madison Square Park Conservancy, MZA Events Inc., and Accem. Through these different positions, Eric has developed skills in content production, marketing, messaging, digital and social media campaigns, policy development, external communications, research analysis, event coordination, and program management.

Eric Cova completed their Master of Public Administration (MPA) degree in Public & Nonprofit Management & Policy at the NYU Robert F. Wagner Graduate School of Public Service from 2018 to 2020. During their time at NYU, they were also awarded the Ellen Schall Experience Fund. Prior to their graduate studies, Eric obtained a Bachelor of Arts degree in Global and Area Studies with a focus on Latin America and the Caribbean, as well as a Bachelor of Arts degree in Spanish, both from Michigan State University. Eric completed their undergraduate education at the Detroit Country Day School from 2002 to 2006.
