Sam de Maeyer

Sam De Maeyer has a diverse work experience spanning various roles and industries. Starting in 2006, they worked as an Order Picker in the distribution center of Caterpillar Inc. In 2007, they worked as a Freelance Catering Barman. From 2008 to 2013, they worked as a Hulplaborant (Lab-assistent) at LEB, where their responsibilities included sample collection, testing, reporting, customer interaction, and planning. In 2008, they also briefly worked as an Order Picker at Yazaki Corporation. They then transitioned into the field of software engineering, working as a Software Engineer on several freelance web design projects from 2013 to 2014. From 2013 to 2015, they worked as a Frontend Software Engineer at ActivTrades, where they handled website maintenance, built new functionality and landing pages, and created marketing campaigns and games. From 2015 to 2017, they served as a Software Engineer at Show My Homework, focusing on Ember.js and Ruby on Rails development. Currently, they are employed at Smart Pension, where they started in 2017 as a Senior Software Engineer, progressed to Frontend Tech Lead in 2018, and currently hold the position of Principal Software Engineer.

Sam De Maeyer attended Hotelschool Hasselt from 1999 to 2004. However, no specific degree or field of study was mentioned during this time. Later, from 2010 to 2012, Sam studied at SyntraPXL and obtained a degree in Web Developer with a field of study in Computer Software Engineering.
