Ahmet Şahin Yener

Machine Learning Researcher at SmartAlpha

Ahmet Şahin Yener's work experience includes the following:

1. Machine Learning Researcher at SmartAlpha (2021-present): Ahmet is responsible for building clinically viable and stable machine learning products at the intersection of AI and Ultrasound. Ahmet Şahin focuses on increasing the efficiency and success of algorithms through cutting-edge technology and research, and distilling the knowledge of Medical Experts for ultrasound users through Computer Vision.

2. Lead Computer Vision Engineer at Nexizon (2020-2021): Ahmet developed and built computer vision solutions applied at a wide scale. Ahmet Şahin oversaw data gathering, researched and implemented state-of-the-art architectures, and optimized them for the deployment stage and performance monitoring. Additionally, they managed cloud computing resources for storage, training, and deploying compute-intense jobs.

3. Research Intern at Hacettepe University (2020): During this internship, Ahmet implemented the Google Brain paper SCAN: Learning Hierarchical Visual Concepts in Pytorch and deployed it using REST API. Ahmet Şahin worked on unsupervised learning over language and image data to produce disentangled representations using Variational Auto Encoders and Denoising Auto Encoders. Ahmet Şahin also gained experience in generative DNNs, preprocessing and analyzing language and image data, writing scalable and modular code, and working with Cloud Processing Systems.

4. C++ Tutor / Computer Vision Tutor (2018-2019): Ahmet served as a tutor, teaching C++ and computer vision to students.

Ahmet Şahin Yener started their education journey in 2015 at Hacettepe University, where they pursued a Bachelor's degree in Computer Science. Ahmet Şahin successfully completed their undergraduate studies in 2021.

Afterwards, they chose to further enhance their knowledge and skills in Computer Science by pursuing a Master of Science - MS degree. From 2023 to 2025, Ahmet Şahin Yener attended the Technical University of Munich for their Master's degree.
